About Imran

Md Imran Hossain is currently pursuing his PhD studies at the Institute of Frontier Materials, situated within Deakin University in Geelong, Australia. Under the guidance of Associate Professor Maryam Naebe, she is engaged in groundbreaking research within the field of Fibre Science and Technology. Imran’s primary focus lies in devising innovative strategies to mitigate the shedding of microplastics within textile industries, thereby addressing a pressing environmental concern.

Imran's academic journey commenced with the attainment of his Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from Stamford University Bangladesh, Bangladesh, laying a robust foundation for his future endeavours. He then pursued further academic excellence by completing his Master of Science in Chemistry from Myongji University, South Korea, in 2022. During his tenure at Myongji University, he actively contributed to several research projects, enriching his expertise and gaining valuable insights into scientific inquiry.

In 2024, driven by his passion for cutting-edge research and inspired by the esteemed faculty at Deakin University, Imran embarked on his doctoral journey at the Institute of Frontier Materials. Under the esteemed mentorship of Associate Professor Maryam Naebe, along with the guidance of Associate Professor Alessandra Sutti and Dr. Yi Zhang, he aims to delve deeper into the intricacies of his research domain, pushing the boundaries of knowledge and innovation.

Imran's dedication and scholarly contributions are evident through his noteworthy publications. With five research articles already published in SCI-indexed journals, including two as the first author, and one book chapter, he has demonstrated his proficiency and commitment to advancing scientific discourse. As he continues to make strides in his academic and research pursuits, Imran remains steadfast in his mission to drive positive change and make impactful contributions to his field and beyond.
